FILM: MAN ON WIRE

The pacing of the film is done perfectly, with the result that James Marsh creates a documentary full of suspense and thrills. The tension, like that of the wire itself, builds and at points becomes unbearable. This is despite the fact that we know the outcome! The combination, of old grainy footage from the 70s, which makes us feel as though we are there, and majestic live action shots that leave us in awe at their beauty, is transcendent. I also particularly enjoyed Marsh's use of split screen as I made a video recently exploring this technique.

FILM: APRICOT

I saw this on the plane on the way back from Dubai and thought it was really touching. After it finishes, the movie leaves a smile on your face because you know you've seen something good. There aren't many films out there like it! A great film for all you dreamers out there who believe in fate and love. Only 10mins too.

Trailer: Gangster Squad

This looks like it is going to be a great film. A very slick American gangster film with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Coming soon.

Film: PICK ONE

A short film I made in our animation class, which uses split screens and multiple sounds, to force the viewer to choose what they want to listen to and watch.

The Campaign

Two comic legends combined. The trailer doesn't look particularly funny, but hopefully the combined genius of Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis makes up for this.
