FIlM: The Dictator

The Dictator is the next installment in Sasha Baron Cohen's set of hilarious comedies. Unlike Borat and Bruno, the entire movie is scripted and thus the result is a film that shares a lot of similarities with Ali G Indahouse. It is a movie that doesn't go far too far like Bruno, but one that still revels in a slew of outrageous jokes based on racial stereotypes. Despite racial jokes being wrong, the packed audience in the cinema was laughing out loud throughout the movie, a testament to Cohen's comedy genius. The film ends with a moral message that works as an attempt by Cohen to protect himself from too much (real-life) hate once the film is over and done with, but this works as a welcome change from his previous entries.

To sum up: Outrageous, hilarious and worth watching.

7.5/10
